ROBERT MAURUS – PEOPLE AND PLACES AROUND THE WORLD
Robert Maurus is a globe trotting watercolor artist. He holds a masters degree from
Baker
University
, an M.B.A. certificate from
Kansas
University
, and a B.B.A. degree from
Eastern Michigan
. He has studied art at Kansas City Art Institute, Dubai Art Institute,
Louisiana
Art Society,
Eastern
Michigan
University
, and
Henry
Ford
College
. He has taught watercolors for ten years in
Kansas City
and two years in the
Middle East
.
Robert’s current exhibit takes us on a whirlwind tour of the world. It represents the people and places of the world through the artist’s eyes. The artist invested time in learning the cultures he vividly paints. Robert lived in the
Middle East
for three years. He owned a home in
Thailand
for eight years and extensively traveled the
Far East
. Void of the tourist traps, Robert lived among the working class. His pictures represent the hopes, the fears, the poverty, and the love that grows from living a life that is stricken hardships. He also has given flight to the lively open cities of the world. To view his art is like taking a guided tour around the world.
